We are currently seeking a talented ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER for our Neighborhood Residential team in our Pleasanton, CA office. This individual will work closely with principals and teams to produce the successful development and completion of design work through all phases, from conceptual and schematic design to project close out. The ideal candidate will have single family detached or townhome experience and will also demonstrate a desire and ability to generate creative and innovative designs that exemplify our Passion for Place.

This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at our Pleasanton, CA office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • In collaboration with project team members, establishes schematic design direction and carries design intent through the development of working drawings.
  •  Completes drawing production and documentation for assigned projects throughout early design phases, including Programming, Conceptual Design, and Entitlements.
  •  Develops planning strategies and creative design concepts that support overall project goals. Supports Senior Designers with graphics, 3D modeling, presentations, and design studies.
  • Prepares presentation materials, design drawings, and detailed documents, and reviews designs to ensure compliance with established specifications and standards.
  •  Assists the team as needed to support project completion and closeout.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Demonstrates excellent ability to sketch, design, draw, model, and communicate visually.
  •  Brings strong skills in developing floor plans and elevations, with a clear understanding of three-dimensional design.
  • Highly proficient in SketchUp modeling, Revit/BIM, and AutoCAD, with experience in the Adobe Design Suite preferred.
  • Maintains a strong awareness of building code limitations and their impact on design.
  • Shows willingness to work across a variety of building typologies and architectural styles, with a genuine interest in understanding architectural assemblies and details.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively, fostering positive working relationships with other design professionals.
  • An excellent problem solver and independent thinker with strong listening skills and reliable follow-through, complemented by clear verbal and written communication skills.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3- 5 years of experience in a professional architectural setting; single family detached or townhome residential projects required.
  • Completion of Bachelor’s in Architecture or Master’s in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program.
  • Commitment to their own professional growth; preferably to obtaining licensure as an architect
  • Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions. Please note that visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage. We also offer the opportunity to participate in a pre-tax Flexible Spending plan, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, and 401k.

Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 depending on qualifications. Placement within this pay range will be determined by factors such as education, qualifications, project complexity and/or experience. The maximum is reserved for candidates who currently meet all job requirements.
